All old gold in India is high carat, so either 22 or 24ct. Chain not included.
In South Indian tradition, women wear a wedding necklace, usually made from black and gold beads, featuring a main gold piece called a 'thali'. This unusual style looks great worn high as a choker. And paired with our short length bead necklaces, or as here with the emerald mala. The red stone is traditionally red glass. This could be replaced with a ruby, or stone of your choice should you wish.
A thali would traditionally be worn in a threaded bead necklace, with black and gold beads. Due to the weighting of the construction, these pieces look best work quite high on the neck. Seen here with our emerald necklace, here.
